Palmerston & Maitland Traditional Scouting belongs to the organization known as Traditional Scouting Association (formerly BPSC). Traditional Scouting uses outdoor recreation to promote strong values, build self-confidence, and promote healthy, active living, developing the next generation of leaders (https://traditionalscouting.ca/). Palmerston & Maitland Traditional Scouting currently offers programs for youth aged 11 and older, but hope to expand to offer programming for youth ages 5 and up.

The Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum exists today because of the effort and dedication of community volunteers and concerned citizens. Volunteers play a vital role in the maintenance and operation of the Museum, related rolling stock and buildings. Volunteers also assist guests with research and genealogy requests. In addition, volunteers assist as required with special events, which help raise much needed funds to operate the Museum. Without the support and commitment of community volunteers, the Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum would not be able to operate.
The Crown Harriston, build in 1949, reopend again as a Cultural Centre. Still with many original features, it has a capacity of 226 seats and phenomenal acoustics, thanks to the architecturial structure.
The goal of the VON community support services is to maintain or improve the independence of seniors and adults with disabilities living in our communities. We need volunteers to join our team!
Wellington Roller Derby is a women's roller derby league based out of Mount Forest. Fun, exciting, friendly atmosphere!
Volunteers are needed to assist with various daily programs including but not limited to bingo, crafts, musical entertainment, baking, outings, garden walks, 1:1 visits, bible study, etc.
